In a previous article, we have discussed how the two most well-known certification schemes differ and earlier this year, we made an article about how the FLEGT system worked. To make matters more complicated, there’s another system that European business must also take into account, the EUTR. Within a few years, this system is replaced by the wider-spanning EUDR.

All of these systems are important to know about as they are in place to ensure fair and sustainable raw materials, so we can all continue to enjoy timber products for many years to come.

But if your head is spinning with reading about all the different regulations, certifications, and licenses to adhere to, we understand why. Therefore, we have made this little comparison of FLEGT, EUTR/EUDR, FSC and PEFC to make a simplified overview of what the different systems are and what they include.
